Aerocnidarians: Giant, floating jellyfish-like creatures that appear worldwide, from the chilled plains of Ayrianna to the warm, tropical savannah of South Sheimal. These airborne goliaths float through the sky like majestic flying Man'O'Wars feeding upon the microscopic Aeroplankton in the air. Like most other flying animals on Hermes-6, Aerocnidarians have special methane gas bags to help it stay in the air. Aerocnidarians start their lives as small grubs, slithering upon the ground in massive groups called a militia. Once they reach adolescence, they seperate in a great tornado like spiral as they rise into the air since their methane sacs have fully developed. One interesting species from Massul is the Radiant Floater (Methanepipleon Glaucus), known for their unique breeding ritual. Rather than laying eggs in a odd string upon the ground, it lays the eggs on another floater of a different species. The hatchlings act like parasites, feeding upon the host floater until they have finish and reach their adolescent stage, leaving nothing but a few pieces of flesh of their mutilated victim.

Batisopterids: Medium sized flying creatures that resemble flying manta rays with a large tube-like mouth. Like Aerocnidarians they are spotted worldwide and have methane sacs to stay in the air. The sacs appear like jets of an airplane, but instead of oil, it uses oxygen and, using unique chemicals found within its body, converts that into methane and exumes it to keep it aloft. The Batisopterids are predators of the sky, and feed upon floating giants like Aerocnidarians, potruding their flesh with its beak-like maw at the end of its tube. Their eyes are on the bottom of its body to spot prey from below. One note worthy species from the shores of Chratte called the Ospray (Avibatis Ropen) is known for its very reflective skin, and its ability to wrap its mouth around a prey item similar to snake. Its underside glows bright blue at night so it can check for any prey on the surface of the water, like a living, predatory spotlight.

Colossoformes: Bipedal giants of South Sheimal, Chratte, Halvonma, Ayrianna, and Calmuron. These gentle giants move in great heards and are the largest land animals on Hermes-6, ranging from elephant sized to Argentinosaurus sized. While gentle they are oblivious to most things that 3 times smaller than it, resulting in a painful death as the giant crushes the smaller animals body. One common species from chratte, the Blue Goliath (Magnafara Caerulu) which is the smallest of the species, being about a few feet taller than the average Buffalo.

Linguacephalids: Tripedal liquivores from Dallor that resemble no animal on Earth, a trait commonly shared with all clades of Dallor. Linguacephalids have a giant, unique tongue which sprouts out of its head, similarly to the creatures pictured with Panderavis from Nemo-Ramjets "Alltomorrows". They range from the size of horses to the size of elephants. One noteable species of this clade is the Salt Eater (Haliovorax Helicos) which has a unique spiral shaped tongue. This is because, rather than having one tube, it has two. One for extracting the salt from the water of its coastal home and digesting it, and the other for drinking the water.

Mortenykids: Large, bipedal raptor-like creatures that live on the continents of South Sheimal, The Trocese Islands, Ayrianna and Terioma. They're extremely fast hunters, some run even faster than a cheetah, and are extremely acrobatic, pulling off front and back flips over their prey item. They also appear to have a somewhat high level of intelligence, almost rivaling that of a chimp. However, most species are unable to make tools, not because they're not intelligent enough, but becase most species have claws that take up most of their fingers, making tool building a challenge. One species from The Trocese Islands called the Yellow Howlers (Xanthotropicalis Macrolestes) however, has the perfect fingers for making tools, but we have yet to see these creatures make their tools, though they do like to steal them as well as anything else shiny that isn't pinned down.

Tyrannomimids: Bipedal carnivores of North Sheimal, South Sheimal and Ayrianna that resemble the tyrannnosaurs of Earth's Cretaceous. They have Terrifying jagged jaws with seemingly endless rows of teeth. While quite big, they can run in short bursts of speed, catching up to their prey item in seconds. One species from Ayrianna called the gourmand (Esuritherium Vorax), which is known for its more croc-like body, for snaching unsupsecting small cretures from off the cold ground, though it cannot run nearly as fast as their cousins.
Wanted to show off some more of the strange creatures that inhabit Hermes-6. I'm working on the rough drafts of the creatures I've mentioned in the first and second part of the Life on Hermes series as well as new members of clades I have and haven't mentioned, so expect to see some of that soon.
